What is Interchat?

Interchat is a cloud-based service that connects Telegram Bots and regular accounts with Intercom. Businesses can receive and respond to Telegram chats through Intercom.

Interchat uses the native Telegram and Intercom APIs to forward conversations between Telegram and the Intercom Inbox.

How much does Interchat cost?

Interchat costs $49 per month and includes support for up to 5 Telegram accounts. Additional Telegram accounts cost $10 per account per month. The plan includes unlimited Intercom teammates, contacts, and Telegram messages, and a 14-day free trial is available.

Telegram Bot vs Telegram Account

Interchat supports both Telegram bots and regular accounts.

Telegram Bot, designed for automation in Telegram, is commonly used by businesses to communicate with customers. It offers various features and integrates well with systems like Intercom. Create a new Telegram Bot account using @BotFather. Telegram Bot has high conversation limits, making it ideal for businesses.

Telegram Accounts are regular accounts for private conversations. Small businesses often start communication with Telegram Accounts. However, we don’t recommend using Telegram Accounts for business due to chat limits.

Does Interchat support FIN and Workflows?

Interchat supports messages from Intercom FIN AI and Workflows.

How do I connect a Telegram Bot to Intercom?

To connect the Telegram Bot to Intercom, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new Telegram Bot account using @BotFather.
  2. Copy the Bot Token. Keep it private.
  3. Go to Interchat Connect.
  4. Choose Telegram Bot and paste the Bot Token.

To test the connection, start a chat with your Telegram Bot.

How do I connect a Telegram Account to Intercom?

To connect a Telegram Account to Intercom, go to https://interchat.io/connect, choose Telegram Account, fill out the form with the phone number and details, and all incoming messages will appear in Intercom.

How do I connect a Telegram group chat?

To connect Telegram group chats, add your Telegram Bot to the group and make it an admin. Ensure your Telegram Bot is added to Interchat.

Is Telegram Business supported?

Yes, we support Telegram Business accounts.

How do I connect Telegram Business to Intercom?

To connect Telegram Business to Intercom, ensure your Telegram Bot is added to Interchat. Then, go to Telegram > Settings > Telegram Business and add your Bot to Chatbots. Learn more here.

How do I stop closed conversations from reopening?

In Intercom, go to Settings > Channels > Messenger > General. Then choose the Users option under Control inbound volume. The option Prevent visitors from replying to closed conversations prevents closed conversations from reopening.
