How to connect Telegram Business to Intercom

Telegram recently introduced Business Accounts. They include useful features like business hours, location, quick replies, and more to come.

Telegram Business can be connected to Intercom in two ways:

• through a chatbot
• through a phone number

In practice, the chatbot connection is usually more reliable because it uses retriable webhooks.

Connect Telegram Business through a chatbot

To connect your Telegram Business account through a chatbot, you first need to create one.

To create a chatbot, go to @BotFather and follow the steps to create your bot.

Then connect your chatbot in Interchat here: https://interchat.io/connect.

Next, connect your chatbot to Telegram Business. Go to Telegram > Settings > Telegram Business > Chatbots and add your chatbot.

After that, all messages sent to your Telegram Business account will appear in Intercom. You can also reply to them directly from the Intercom Inbox.
